The official noted that Washington had transferred the supply of raw materials for vaccine production to India in April, considering the need for urging.

“We praised India because it became one of the largest manufacturers for Covid-19 vaccines that were safe and effectively globally, and we noted that Covax and the world were very dependent on Indian contributions,” the official said.

India has so far given more than 75 crore doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, according to the Ministry of Health Union.
