Razer Anzu Comment: Smart Glasses is almost awesome

Lasses with speakers built into their arms into something. Bose and Amazon released Hybrid Eyewear headphones in recent years – both named frame. Now Razer joins Anzu’s smart glasses. Like the Bose and Amazon frame, basically a pair of glasses with speakers built on the arms that play audio without blocking the whole world. But the Razer device has several unique features. Because it is a famous brand with its gaming products, it is not surprising that the Razer offers a “game mode” for low latency sound. It also has a blue light motivating lens by default and costs $ 50 less than a newer echo and frame of Bose. Are these features enough to set the latest razer wearable devices from the others?

Design

At first glance, it is difficult to notify Razer Anzu and the echo frame separately. I chose the “Rectangle Design” version of Anzu, and it was very similar to the Amazon device. They both had a slightly large round rectangular lens. But on closer inspections, you will see some differences.

One – ANZU has a larger module on his arm, which ultimately makes them less comfortable for all the weary days than echo frame. The Razer device also has two charging ports – one on each arm. And while Amazon can be used to have a special volume button and the key action other than the touch panel on the right arm, Anzu doesn’t have a physical button at all. The front on both arms offers sensitive touch controls.

Like the echo frame, the small / medium razer Anzu matches his face wide enough, and it is also rated IPX4 for water resistance. But unlike Amazon, Razer offers a larger size. Anzu also has springier hinges rather than Amazon, which not only helps accommodate a bigger head but also makes it tend to break. I like more glasses of squarnish, but those who prefer something round can choose to get Anzu in “round design”. At present, it is only available in black, while the echo frame comes in three colors.

Setting and touch control

There are two ways to set Razer Anzu. You can pair it to your laptop or your phone directly through your Bluetooth settings, or use the company’s mobile application. If you continue the direct route to treat this as a pair of Bluetooth headphones, the process is relatively painful. Make sure the anzu arm is opened, which changes it and triggers fashion in pairs. After you connect it, say, your laptop, you must decide manually every time you want to switch to another device. To turn off your glasses is quite folding the arm.

Things become a little more complicated if you choose to use the application. After I found and paired the ANZU Android application on the Razer on my 4A Pixel, I was surprised when the music I played after it didn’t come out of the glasses. I still have to get into my phone’s Bluetooth settings to connect Anzu to audio output.

It was a relatively small discomfort, compared to my bigger problem with the Razer smart glasses: movement control. Tutorial in the application will guide you through all the touch movements available, lets you try every function out and choose what they do. Anzu can recognize – excuse me, should be identified – one press, double tap, knock on three, long press and tap three times by long press at the end. But it is important to note that Anzu will only recognize the press, not a tap.
