Super Blood Moon will mercy the final sky this month
The backyard astronomers want to look at the sky later this month to watch “Super Blood Month.” Super Blood Months will be seen on May 26 in several parts of the United States. Super Blood Month occurs when two lunar phenomena occur at the same time. We see supermoon at the point when the moon is a little closer to earth than usual in the orbit cycle, making it look bigger in the sky.
We see the moon of blood when there is a total lunar eclipse that gives the reddish appearance. Super Blood Month will occur when the full moon goes into the dark shadow. The atmosphere of the earth blocked a shorter light wavelength, such as blue, but allows a longer wavelength, such as red, to pass the atmosphere and continue to the moon.
The result is a full moon greater than normal with reddish colors like copper. Some refer to the Super Blood month as a super moon “flower”, which comes from Almanak farmers. The name comes from flowers that tend to bloom so far. The full moon on May 26 was also famous for being the second supermoon of 2021.
NASA notes that while supermoon is a little closer to the normal earth, only around 98 miles closer. Some people won’t even notice that the moon is bigger in the night sky. Amateur astronomers will be able to see the Super Blood Month in East Asia, the Pacific Ocean, and West US parts. Most of the east coast will not be able to see the month of super blood because it will be under the horizon when the eclipse is full.
In April, Skywatchers were treated to a phenomenon known as a super pink month. Skywatches around the world looked at the event and would definitely come out to see the Super Blood Month later this month.
