Patent dastardly describes the method of serving ads in the car
It’s hard to do anything today without being played by advertisements. You can’t stream videos from many sources without ads, you can’t explore the internet without ads, and you can’t drive on the road without seeing advertising boards and other types of ads. Patent has appeared published on May 6, 2021, called “Billboard interface for vehicle display.”
The patent was submitted by the Ford Motor Company in December 2016. The patent describes the method and equipment for the billboard interface for display in the vehicle. Basically it presents ads on the infotainment system screen. According to the patent, the example method to produce a billboard interface for the vehicle display includes getting through an advertising board image camera and identify the image segment through the processor.
Ford Patents can determine an event associated with the image segment and produce a billboard interface in the vehicle to insert a hyperlink from the segment starting the event. Basically, it seems that it will describe the way when you drive on the road that the camera can recognize the advertising board, identify a product, and offer a page on the infotainment system screen with a hyperlink you can press the product or learn more about it.
The art line from patent archiving, which can be seen above, shows the system can recognize advertising boards for local restaurants and produce pages in the car. This page has a telephone number that can be called on the link link, or navigation information can be served based on the address on the link.
The system can help and welcome if it only works when users want more information about the billboards they see on the side of the road. However, it can be very disturbing if the system automatically generates this information on the screen for each advertising board you pass while driving.
