Taylor Swift breaks attendance record for female artist in Lyon, France
Taylor Swift made history in Lyon, France, with her sold-out Eras Tour, breaking attendance records at the Groupama Stadium.
Addressing the electrified crowd of 61,000 fans on Monday, Swift, adorned in a pink bejeweled jacket and bodysuit, expressed her gratitude, “This is overall my very first trip to Lyon and look at what you’ve done.”
The previous night, Swift had announced the smashing of the venue’s all-time attendance record for a female artist. Continuing the trend of surpassing records, she joyfully proclaimed on Monday, “You broke that record,” as cheers filled the stadium and gray clouds loomed overhead.
Unlike the rainy evening during the “Reputation” era, Monday’s weather remained dry, with temperatures in the low 60s. Observing some fans on the floor in need of water, Swift paused her performance, not hesitating to request assistance from the guards. Even during her epic rendition of “All Too Well,” she momentarily halted singing, urging, “S’il vous plaît, please help.”
Strumming her guitar to the tune of “Betty” in the combined “Folklore”/”Evermore” set, Swift once again appealed for assistance, saying, “Aidez-les s’il vous plaît (help them please).”
Following the Lyon shows, Swift and her crew are enjoying a well-deserved four-day tour break before their next destination: Edinburgh, Scotland, where she is set to perform on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
